What is the best way to do my own bouquets and also to ensure I have the flowers I need for my wedding?

I am doing my own bouquets and centerpieces for the wedding. I did some trial the other night using flowers bought from the grocery store, and they turned out great; however, my wedding is not until July 4th, and I would like to ensure I can get the inexpensive flowers I need ON THE DATE I need them. I would prefer not to buy from a professional florist when I can spend half the money buying them at the grocery store! Does anybody know any good online retailers that will send undecorated flowers to your home? Or does anybody have any OTHER tips that could be useful? Thank you.|||We went the bulk flower route. It went GREAT!

I'm in Michigan and went through a company called Horrocks. They are a produce store. They even made it so the roses were "left out" and in full bloom. Your grocery store could probably work with a wholesaler and get them delivered. They did make the bouquets. On site delivery was $12 and we spent $700 out the door, this included everything......centerpieces, bouquets, coursages etc. You can email me privately for pix.

I would go locally rather than online. I've had some really bad experiences with some online retailers.|||Why not go to Michael's and get silk flowers for everything you need. You can even do yours in silk and they are georgous. But, if you want, do yours in real. A florist can do a bridal boquet very resonable. Depending on the grocery store is not a good idea as you don't know what they will have in stock or their delivery status to depend on.|||I am also getting married in July (28) and my flowers, center pieces and head table flowers are all completely done. We were trying to think of ways to save money and we deceided to go with silk flowers. We bought them at places like AC Moore %26amp; Walmart. And the best thing about it all is I get to keep them forever. If you choose your flowers wisely you'll never know they are fake. And you can do them now and put them away until the wedding. This worked for me because I have one less thing I needed to worry about. The only flowers I need now are for the gentleman, my mother grandmothers etc. . and I'm getting them for an awesome price at Price Chopper. Good Luck and CONGRADULATIONS on the wedding|||There are wholesalers online who will sell you flowers at a bulk rate, you have to do the arranging yourself though. It is a fraction of the cost. Check out freshroses.com or growersbox.com. Good luck!!|||any craft store like michaels usually has a pretty good selection. they also have books there that you can buy to get other ideas. way to go on making them yourself!|||I just got married in April. I bought all of my flowers from a wholesale florist, and I did all the flowers myself too! I got a great deal for everything. If you have a membership to Costco they do flowers in bulk. You can also google "flowers in bulk" and you can order everything online and they can send it to you the day before the wedding and then you can put it all together yourself. You just need to make sure you have a refrigerator to put all of the flowers in because they can wilt and die if they are too hot... I am sure it will be hot July 4th! :o) Good luck with everything! It is extremely stressful and make sure you have LOTS AND LOTS of help to put all the stuff together... I was doing my girls bouquets at midnight the night before my wedding! Feel free to ask for more helpful tips! I have done every cost saving tip alive! ;o)|||The obvious solution would be fake flowers. You'll save money...And time stressing about getting all those arrangements together by the wedding date.|||I've seen freshroses.com get rave reviews.

I would always check with Better bussines bureau to make sure they don't have complaints against them and then check site like theknot.com where people rate their vendors and can tell your what the experience was like.|||www.flowerbud.com/

www.fiftyroses.com/

www.growersbox.com

www.sommerflowers.com

there are hundreds of places that will deliver you flowers.

You dont want to be doing this the morning of your wedding though. I would suggest ordering about 3 days ahead of time since most of the flowers need time to open a bit. Keep them in a cool dark place with lots of water and arrange them the day before your wedding. They will stay fresh.|||some times silks look as nice as the real ones and you don't have to worry about then being over watered or not watered enough plus once the wedding is over you can keep your bouquet looking as beautiful as the wedding day and silks are tons cheaper.

What should I do about this wedding vendor/florist??

I had an appt with a florist to discuss my wedding flowers. I had gone on their www site and selected various FTD arrangments, I read the substitution policy and was cool with that... I made a list of everything I needed the prices on the web/etc.. I even had pages printed off their www site showing the exact bouquet, etc... and the flowers used/etc.... and the price. So I get there and one of the employees tells me that they don't have to honor the prices on the www site that those are just a guideline... I was like um... what do you mean the prices is right there, there is even a place you can order the item online... insert a credit card #. The woman was a bit confused (I even pointed where it had their name on the www site/and www site address).... Another woman who claims she's the owner came over and screamed at me that they will not honor these prices that she pays her designers $20/hr and that this is stealing (to honor the prices she has on her www site)...|||Did you sign a contract with them? I certainly hope not.

If you didn't sign a contract, you have no problem. Find another reputable florist. Ask your friends, family members, and coworkers for recommendations.

If you did sign a contract? I would go ahead and find another florist anyway . . . even if it did mean losing deposit money. Better to lose the deposit money, and go on to find someone who is polite and won't scream at you.

Call 1-800-SEND-FTD and ask them who you would need to contact to complain. That is 1-800-736-3383.

http://www.ftd.com/custserv/contact.epl

Don't cry . . . just take your business someplace else.|||I would not worry about it another minute. Just order flowers from another florist. Even if you can work out the prices with them, they do not deserve your business or your money after that miserable treatment. If you want, you can complain to the better business bureau, but it might not even make a difference. Just tell all your friends not to deal with them.|||I would get in contact with FTD first thing in the morning and then report them to the Better Business Bureau. If it says on their website that they DO honor the prices then they must. If however it doesnt say that then they may be in the right. You can still report them for their customer service. I would find a new florist ASAP.|||Call FTD again, report what was said at the meeting. Then call the BBB and report unfair business practices.

good luck. :)|||i would deff not be going back there..find someone else to do it..thats like false advertising report it to BBB or whatever it is..because thats bull they advertise one thing and then say another..and deff go to another florist..|||For any stores, online prices are often cheaper than those in the physical store.... with clothes, electronics, etc.

However, I suggest you find another florist!|||what i think is ftd.|||Many florists shops all over the country have FTD, Pro-Flowers, etc. on their site as a "representative" of the company. The shop is most likely paying FTD a fee to use their name on their site, shop, etc.

In some places there are actual professional florists in these shops, but other places get the floral arrangements you order from another shop altogether and jack up the cost. Sounds like the latter with you.

But, if you are actually viewing a FTD arrangement, call around to other shops to see if you can get that price. Though most company's prices are cheaper online than in-store orders.

If you have not signed a contract with them, move on.

Advice to all brides: do your research before you get settled on one vendor. Consider at least 3 vendors for each category and just don't depend on a website...actually go to the place of business with a list of questions before you make a decision.

I need help with possible ideas for flower marketing?

I'm running a florist and the bussiness is doing pretty good. We depend greatly on the internet for online orders and such. I'm trying to think ahead to where we don't have to rely on it so much. I'm trying to open accounts with big coporate offices and try to live of of those accounts. I'm looking for other potential accounts and do not know where to look. Or if there are any other better suggestion on marketing, it'd be really appreciated. Please help me out.|||Now just why the heck would big companies choose to do business with you in the first place? They do not need flowers. They could use them for some special occassions- but if you start calling and selling for that purpose, #1 what other things could you be doing that might be better for you and #2 are you prepared to deal with the massive inventory shifts that come with corporate orders?

Start with DATA about who buys flowers, when, why, and how.|||Business and corporate buildings is a great place to start. Strange places to try - offer a discount to churches (my catholic church has 6 new arrangements every week) if you can offer them descent pricing, they may use you exclusively and that's money every week you can count on. Also, funeral homes - again, if you offer them some kind of deal they will use you or you can give them special benefits for recommending you to funeral attendants. (people that come from out of town and need to buy flowers will rely on the funeral home to recommend someone). Hotels, spas, and salons also always have fresh arrangements. Wedding shops, you could even pair up with a couple of wedding coordinators (they will use you if they can rely on quality workmanship time after time).Hope these ideas get you started.

Does anyone know of any reputable flower companies online?

Upon considering everything, I have decided that ordering wholesale flowers online will be cheaper than consulting a florist to do all the work. I love to DIY, so I have decided that I will work on creating some of the arrangements for my wedding ceremony. What would be a good website to order wholesale flowers online? I have a few concerns though:

1. Is the company is reputable?

2. Quality of the products

3. Quality of the service.

I used this site: www.rosesource.com for my son's wedding. They sell ALL types of flowers, not just roses.

Yes, this company is reputable. You can see my testimonial signed "Gail B." on their site.

The only thing....research and know what you are getting into before you decide this! I would not suggest for you to make up complex arrangements/bouquets unless you have LOTS of help. Also....when is your wedding? What time of year? My son's was in the summer and we have an air conditioned house, so it all worked out. They caution you NOT to put the flowers into regular refrigerators.....just keep them cool. Also, since these are fresh flowers, you will need to have them delivered 2 days before the wedding....then do all the arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres the day BEFORE your wedding. It it LOTS of work! But, again, well worth it also!

I ordered 250 roses, which would have cost me $1,000 and I only paid (in 2006) $160!! Cheap! I did not do up bouquets, etc. I only used them for table arrangements for the rehearsal dinner, reception, church, cake table, etc.

Help...getting married in March, in search of an affordable/good photographer and florist. Live in Northern NJ

I don't want to just pick out of a phone book or online. I want to find the best deal in my area for a photographer/florist. I don't just mean cheap, but I also mean quality. Thanks in advance for your help!|||I can't give you any specific names of vendors. I can suggest taking a look at www.pictage.com and viewing some of the photographers in your area. There are a lot who have websites listed along with prices and portfolios, etc. I have found a lot of great photographers through the site and I'm sure you can find the same.|||I am a florist in Jersey City. |||I'm a photographer and generally don't do weddings, but I can give you some pointers. First, there are different levels of wedding photography (in terms of price and what you get). The cheapest is generally under $1,000 and you can expect to find a fair amount of beginners, or a seasoned photographer that will keep it very basic. The next level is generally around $3,000 to $5,000. These are more professional photographers that might show up with an assistant or a second shooter and might dazzle you with their post production. $5,000 to $10,000 is stepping in the realm of luxury. You can expect two professional shooters, and a really nice leather bound album. Note that a really good quality album can run anywhere from $500 to $5,000 (cost), multiply that by 3 and you have what you pay for it. Then there are the $10,000 to $30,000 photographers. These people shoot with digital medium format cameras and will have an entire staff working the wedding.

I'm also getting married and am finding it tough to find a photographer I trust. You might want to put an ad on Craigslist asking for samples and giving people a budget that you have set aside for a photographer. Be very cautious about working with someone who will work for less than $1,000 as they probably cannot guaranty consistently good results. You may also want to check in with a photography store like Penn Camera (not Ritz) and see if they can refer someone to you. If not, check with B%26amp;H in NY as they are the largest distributor of photograhy equipment and are bound to have some names for you.

Good luck and congrats!|||I used Lamar Wedding Center in Montclair NJ. My pictures are beautiful. We bought a small package for $1100.00 and we got all of our proofs, the album and a 16 x 20 Photo and the disc with all the photos on it.

Good luck and I hope this helps!|||Your Photographer should be at 1/3 of your wedding cost. You DO get what you pay for! (Believe me - I know!) Cheap and quality don't usually go hand in hand. You'll seriously regret it if you do.|||You don't PICK one from online but seeing their websites and getting information that way will certainly be very helpful. Your best bet is to call your local florist, or if you live out of town and need to "wire" flowers to someone, get on the internet and locate a flower shop in that area.

Most if not all flower shops will take an order using your credit card.

Do not make the mistake of putting a middle man (like 1-800) into your final sale, it will only make the costs go up.|||Go to your local florist shop. They can arrange to have a live plant arrangement delivered just the same as they can arrange to have cut flowers delivered.

Good luck with your shopping.|||I have found the best way to order plants/flowers is to call a local florist directly, in the town in which the recipent lives. The online ordering places seem to have lots of charges added on to the actually price of the plant and you never know what you'll get. However, if you call a local place you will just get a delivery charge. And they are much more likely to make you what you want, not just what is seen online. And local businesses are usually much more pleasant to work with than online order companies. Just go to a place like dexonline.com, type in floral and the city and you should get a list of local shops. Good Luck!

Why is costco, trader joe's,1-800 flowers, and large corporations trying to overshadow flower shops?

I don't understand why large corporations take advantage of small businesses, all those online "florists" like pro-flowers, blooms.net and 1-800 flowers, rip people off.

I ordered a large arrangement from 1-800 flowers and I didn't get the best quality in flowers, I would rather order from a local flower shop now, especiall y those that are family owned.

they give you the best service and products it was worthe the money, pricey, but worth every penny. Could a florist use scheduling software?

My friends and I are developing some scheduling software.

Basically, a customer could go online and schedule a flower order and delivery.

Would this work for a floriest? Why or why not?|||Probably not. I've been a floral designer for a little over 20 years and I don't think I could use this. Things change so quickly in the course of an hour even at a florist, you cannot keep things hard and fast and have to have a good level of flexibility. You might have a handful of orders in the AM and then have family come in to order family funeral work. The funeral work has to come first and the home deliveries then get taken care of afterwards. That is why it is sometimes very difficult to give customers a specific time frame for delivery because there are just too many variables. We can usually promise BY a certain time especially if it is afternoon and someone will only be at work until 3 or something along those lines. But we really cannot be held to a set schedule because of orders that continue to come in, the variability in how long certain things take to make (say comparing a quick vase, compared to a casket spray), when shipments of flowers come in, etc.....

So that is the long answer, short answer is probably not.

It's also a LOT more helpful for us if customers call us instead of ordering online. When they order online, they cannot find out directly from us what flowers we have in the store at that very minute. They might be looking at pictures that have a HUGE assortment of flowers in them and unless we have a couple of days notice (sometimes more) we simply don't have every flower in every shade in stock at all times. When we talk to a customer on the phone, we can go over what is in stock in our store, what is in season, out of season, what looks nicest, etc..... so for me personally, even though I'm a big internet user, I much prefer for customers to call us directly.|||use it for when plants or flowers come in. and rotate stock. try it. online customers are great when ordering flowers from another city. can find you on line .anything that makes you more money than it cost is areal bonus.|||not a new concept.

I am ordering from the UK, online, to be sent to a friend who is studying at Yale, and it's really hard to figure out which floristy is good for fresh flowers, stylish displays and delivery from the websites. I'm thinking of something like 12 red roses, a purple themed bouquet or a purple orchid in a pot and our budget is around $60. Thanks.|||check out FTD.com

What kind of sympathy arrangement to send a male?

My boyfriends grandmother passed this morning. She practically raised him after his own mother died so he is taking this pretty hard. I was wanting to send some flowers to the funeral home. I know he would appreciate having an arrangement sent to him. What sort sympathy arrangement would be appropriate for a male?

I don't want to visit a florist. I was hoping to order them online. Any online florist suggestions as well?|||You are sweet for wanting to support him. I like proflowers.com - they are pretty inexpensive. You can send them to his house or to the funeral home - personally I think to his house is better, but check the obituary in the newspaper to see if the family has any special instructions.

I don't think there is any arrangment or flower that a man would not appreciate. There's no such thing as 'male' arrangements or 'female' arrangements. Men love all kinds of flowers too!! White roses and white lilies are popular sympathy flowers but anything is great - it's the thought that counts.

I have one more suggestion: Instead of (or in addition to) sending them now, wait two or three weeks and send the flowers then, with an encouraging note. Bereaved families are flooded with sympathy for the first week or two, then everything suddenly drops off to nothing, the flowers die, the cards stop coming, and the shock has worn off - this is when people need help and sympathy the most, in my opinion.|||I'm sure that anything at all will be appreciated, but for men, I tend to order a plant. Almost every online florist has a selection of plants in their "Sympathy" section. They aren't quite so "girly" and they make a lovely living tribute to a beloved relative.

If possible, find a florist that is local to the funeral and order from there. Most of them have websites and allow you to order online nowadays. My family and I have had very good luck with this method, especially when we are sending flowers to an out-of-state funeral.|||Try sending him an arrangement that you made yourself, with cheese and crackers and canned meats. Throw in a loaf of bread and wrap it in a blue bow. They probably need the food, anyways, having friends and family over that need food. Food is expensive. Food donations like that, can really save a family during such a tough time, and anyways men love food.

You can also make him a nice casserole or something, as well, but its hard to send those or order them online. There are catering services, so if you want you can order him a couple of meals through one.

All the best hope everything works out %26amp; I'm truly sorry to hear.|||A simple, tasteful floral arrangement. When my dad died we were sent several plants. It gave me the chills everytime I saw them because they reminded me of his death. The good thing about flowers is you don't feel guilty about throwing them away when they are beyond their prime.|||Go simple...maybe a peace lilly or something like that. Since male if you get an entricate boquette, it may be lost if he does not care about flowers. A simple arrangement says you care but you are not spending alot of money on something that is not going to get full appreciation.|||It's OK to send either mums or lilies.

Go see him at the funeral home too if at all possible.

It's times like this that friends are needed the most.|||a nice mixed planter would be very nice. you can get one for anywhere from $25 up, it could be sent to the funberal home with a note on the back of the card that that particular item be reserved for him, you could also get some cut flowers placed in it.

another suggestion i saw was a blooming plant that could be planted outside, such as a mum plant, but a planter has several different varities of plants, and eventually could be seperated into however many different plants there are, and placed in different rooms of the house.|||Try flowers.com. Do a search for sympathy or something to that extent. Call them if you don't see anything good online that might fit. Usually talking to someone and telling them exactly what you want is a lot better.

Wholesale florist?

i am looking for a good online wholesale florist for my wedding - any suggestions? - not proflowers please.|||Check out ~ 'Fifty Flowers'

http://www.fiftyflowers.com/

http://www.fiftyflowers.com/flowers/Wedd...|||Perhaps you're not clear on what the word "wholesale" means. When you buy (for example) enough toilet paper for over 5 years of personal use, you show the wholesaler your merchant license, which is document proof that you intend to resell the items you had bought, with a markup to reflect storage cost, administration, and a reasonable profit margin. Your merchant's license entitles you not to be charged sales tax. If you're not buying a huge quantity, and don't hold a merchant retailer's license, you don't qualify for wholesale prices. If you have a Costco membership store in your area, and apply for wholesaler discount, they're going to ask you to produce your business license, which is document proof you intend to use your purchases, either for resale to the general consumer, or to replenish your business raw materials consumables. If you want flowers for a one-time wedding event, you don't qualify for a wholesale discount. Oh sure, some retailers claim they're giving you a wholesale deal, but they're just using the word "wholesale" as a marketing ploy. "Wholesale" means to buy a HUGE quantity, for either resale to the general public, or to replenish your business operations' raw-material consumables.|||A true "wholesaler" will not sell to anyone without a retail license. Anyone who advertises "wholesale to the public" is lying.

Is it cheaper to go into a store to buy flowers or order them online.?

Flowers in Grocery and at Florist?

Why is that when you buy flowers from local grocery store they are about $10-$15 dozen, and if you wanna buy online/florist they are about $50 and up...what is the difference? or just rip off?|||It's totally OK to buy flowers for a grocery store. They may be a little less fresh than the florists' flowers, but just pull off the wilted petals and put a fresh vertical cut in the stem. Put them in luke warm water and sprinkle a little sugar in the water. They are just as pretty and much less expensive! Buy flowers from the floral department, not the pre-arranged ones throughout the store.|||When you buy on-line, or through a florist, you are paying for the convenience and service of them doing it for you. Grocery stores are cash and carry when it comes to floral items, so the prices are more reasonable.|||When you buy online, more than likely you are also having them delivered. Plus the fact that the internet is a convenient (albeit more expensive) tool. I buy flowers all the time over the internet cause I live far away from my family. It is an option but not always the best choice for people wanting to save money.

I just wanted to know how the flowers they delivered turned out...? I'm thinking about using one of those sites to send my mom some flowers for her bday... What site is best?|||I've used a couple, but I think it is better to call a local florist. The prices are ushually a little better and the owner of the shop gets to keep more of the profits. It takes a bit more leg work on your part but you get a better arrangement and a small business owner instead of a large faceless corporation gets the money.|||I have used two different sites. One was FTD and the other I can't remember. The FTD was great. The arrangement was

The flowers are fresh and beautiful.|||I've used it several times with no problems, however my father just ordered some for my grandmas birthday and they never showed up. You'd be better off calling a local florist as 800 flower and those just wind up goign through a local florist by you and taking a cut anyway. Seems to me going through a third party just adds more that could go wrong and more problems. Did you hear about the guy suing them? Married guy sent flowers to his gf, they sent a thank you card for buying flowers to his home and his wife found it and is divorcing him. The guy is suing for millions.

Just like buying a house it is all about location. Sure, set up next a funeral home. But do not limit yourself. Check out the competition in the area. Has anyone used ProFlowers or any online florist for wedding flowers?

I've been reading up on their wedding flower collections and am impressed with it. And with so many horror stories I hear from brides about their flowers not coming out exactly how they thought....I'm tempted to go with ProFlowers so that I know exactly what I SHOULD be getting, how much, and what I can do if anything fails.

http://www.proflowersweddings.com/

What do you think?|||My best friend used Pro Flowers to do her whole wedding. It ended up really great. She had SO many flowers and she spent about half of what I'm spending on mine. I was going to use them, but my venue requires me to use their florist. I totally understand why you might be afraid though, I've heard all those horror stories too.|||Actually I think costco is only about 50 dollars cheaper on their rose one, for s similar package but you get less of the flowergirl toss flowers. The rest is all the same - boutineers or something. But proflowers allows oyu to customize how many of each you want, and they have nice pricing to add on other things you didnt get. I personally love the "I Do" collection, its got everything I need plus more. Would love to know how everything turns out Im not getting married for probably 2 years now, we postponed because of money, and have been eyeing this site up for a while.|||My best friend used Pacific Callas, I am not sure if the carry other flowers, but her callas were beautiful!!!! Great buy on her part!|||Not for a wedding but for a personal delivery. The flowers were beautiful and the delivery was on time.|||Since we are a local florist and ProFlowers is our competitor, my opinion is necessarily biased.

Now with this caveat clearly stated, I think the real issue here is: do ProFlowers' wedding products satisfy your wedding needs? If they do, then I have to say that ProFlowers does offer a compelling value. But if you need more customized floral products or artistry, you actually don't have many choices: either go to a reputable florist or do it yourself.

As to horror stories, one common mistake some (but not all) florist makes is that they promise too much, i.e., promise way beyond what is realistically possible.

A typical example goes like this: a bride comes in a flower shop with the flower pictures she has pulled from a bridal magazine. She wants her bouquets to be exactly like those. The florist says "No problem."

But in reality, it is not easy to obtain certain flowers with exactly the same color/hue to those pictures. Partly because these pictures are "photo-enhanced" and partly because many of these flower colors are rare. Some florist doesn't want to say that, because of the fear of losing a customer. Personally, I think that over-promise is a form of deception, but it does happen, not just in florists but in many other bridal businesses. Unfortunate, but true.

In the wedding day, the bride is of course disappointed, because the color/hue isn't exactly the one she thought would be. Another "horror" story you mentioned.

By using ProFlowers, at least you can avoid this kind of disappointment. That's because their offering are all common flowers with common colors, so there shouldn't be any procurement problem. For example, take a look at Hydrangea: they offer only two most common colors.

You know that ProFlowers ship flowers by UPS/Fedex, right? Just make sure that someone will be home to receive the flowers and hydrate them as soon as possible.|||I've never heard of them but maybe you can get some company background info as well as some testimonials to help you possibly use the selected florist.

Hope this helps|||Wow! They seem kinda pricey! Have you looked into Costco? If you have a membership with them, you can order your wedding flowers through them.

http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.as...

Good Luck!|||I've ordered from them before. Their flowers are always in beautiful condition. I've ordered for other people, of course. They have good prices and they do a great job making everything look great!|||I would really discourage using any online florist. Online florists are usually about 20% more than if you went to a florist to purchase the flowers, not to mention the delivery costs. Honestly... go to like a grocery store that sells flowers and has a flower attendant... they have the same books that florists have for ordering flowers and they will do the same thing for a lot cheaper!|||I seriously thought about doing this but I ended up finding a florist that would work with me and my needs. I love the bouquets but I wanted some other things, like flowers on the cake, that would have involved tearing boutonnieres apart and doing some fancy work, so I decided against it. I think they have some great stuff. I have ordered regular bouquets from them for birthdays, etc. and it is always of the highest quality and really beautiful.

I am an online florist. There are so many online florists around. How can we differentiate ourselves from the others? If you were the online customer, what would you look for (price? design?) at the online flower shop?|||I usually look at whats available in my price range and if they deliver where I want them to go. It would be nice if you had variations of the types of flowers you could send. Like 2 or three different options of the types of flowers in each arrangement. But usually price is the first factor.|||cheap, good selection, reliable, can deliver to my location.|||A florist that let you pick what flowers you want in an arrangement - the average person knows what flowers they want but we only get standard arrangements to chose from online. I have previously tried serenata.com - but i was disappointed.

Many thanks|||You have three choices of types of businesses when ordering flowers online:

- A local florist in the community where your flowers will be delivered. Local florists generally offer the best value with lower delivery fees - plus you can phone them to find out exactly what you'll get and know when your flowers will be delivered.

- A relay organization like Interflora that will transfer your order to a local florist. They are convenient, but charge service fees above the cost of flowers and delivery. The likelihood of substitution of flowers is high, especially with same-day delivery.

- A boxed flower company that sends by courier or Royal Mail (like Serenata). It's more difficult to know exactly when your flowers will arrive and certain types of arrangements are not well suited to being shipped in a box. Orders must be made in advance of the delivery date and may not be available for delivery on Saturdays.

To find ratings and reviews of local florists near your delivery address, try using Yahoo Local UK: http://uk.local.yahoo.com/

Don't cry . . . just take your business someplace else.|||I would not worry about it another minute.

I'm running a florist and the bussiness is doing pretty good. We depend greatly on the internet for online orders and such. I'm trying to think ahead to where we don't have to rely on it so much.

Can anyone recommend a good florist in Connecticut area to deliver flowers for a friends birthday on Saturday?

I am ordering from the UK, online, to be sent to a friend who is studying at Yale, and it's really hard to figure out which floristy is good for fresh flowers, stylish displays and delivery from the websites.

There are catering services, so if you want you can order him a couple of meals through one.

another suggestion i saw was a blooming plant that could be planted outside, such as a mum plant, but a planter has several different varities of plants, and eventually could be seperated into however many different plants there are, and placed in different rooms of the house.|||Try flowers.com.
